Can't help with a supplier Paul, but might be able to come up with a cog wheel. Is it to replace one in a loco? (Probably can't do that.) If not, brass or plastic? What size/diameter/how many teeth? Centre hole size?Hi all,
Does anyone know a UK supplier that carries a drive cog wheel that is compatible with the LGB rack system? Can't seem to find one anywhere.
Regards,
Paul.

I'm only really want a cog with the correct pitch and tooth shape to connect effectively with the LGB plastic liniar rack. A hard wearing plastic would probably be easier to work with, but brass would be Ok. Any size upto 25 mm external diameter and with an centre hole no larger than a lgb wagon axle. Can't help with a supplier Paul, but might be able to come up with a cog wheel. I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can help.I'm only really want a cog with the correct pitch and tooth shape to connect effectively with the LGB plastic liniar rack. It's for a potential rack 'tug' which would run with the cog providing the drive and the rail wheels free running and collecting power.. Probably using a variable ratio gearbox to get the gearing right. It's not as a replacement part for a LGB loco.
Good evening Paul. Not good news I'm afraid. Been through all my gear wheels and cogs and there is nothing that is an exact match/fit with the cog rail. I bought loads of stuff when Maplin went bust (gearbox sets etc), I've been through what Lego I have left and the box of bits saved from the cannibalisation of kids toys and old r/c cars projects. At the back of the garage I have a wooden boxed set of Meccano from the 1920's but it could take me a week to get to it - and there's no guarantee it would be of any use. Sorry.I'm only really want a cog with the correct pitch and tooth shape to connect effectively with the LGB plastic liniar rack. Thanks. I'll try giving them a call to check if they're still posting to GB. Trouble is they have more thing I'd like than I can afford at the mo...Champex-Linden has them too. Scroll down to CL30364.
