Hello everyone and a happy 2025 to you all.

I'm from Germany near Frankfurt and have been reading this wonderful forum for some time. Now it was finally time to register and share my knowledge.

How did I come to LGB?
It all started in 1981 with the Stainz anniversary starter set “100 Years of Lehmann”, which I got for my 8th birthday.
In 1982, I got the 2080D Harzquerbahn steam locomotive.
In 1989, the legendary 2019S Mogul locomotive with a two-part analog sound board from Massoth in the tender.
There were dozens of potentiometers and of course I wanted to try them all out, so I was able to adjust the chuff individually.
This was followed in the 1990s by 20400 RHB Crocodile, 20851 SEG Mallet, 20510 Öchsle Diesel Loco.

I later sold my entire LGB collection.
During Corona, I only wanted to put a single Stainz on my shelf, but it ended up in a somewhat larger collection of more than 50 locomotives and even more wagons. The LGB bacillus has infected me again

I'm looking forward to be part of this great community.
Best Carsten

Welcome Carsten....

Greetings from one of the neighbours Carsten. Amazing how those pieces of rolling stock reproduce while we aren't looking.
As you have been reading for some time there is no need to warn you about the humour is there? Nearly all just perfectly normal, responsible grownups here.

Hello Carsten, welcome to the forum.

Greetings from the Eifel.

Welcome to the forum Carsten, lots of us are into LGB generally too much, I do try to keep to a Harz Selktalbahn DR circa 1981 theme but have some that do not quite fit. My link below shows the build of my line where we have operating days based heavily on the Timetable of the day including so far as possible correct wagon movements organised by waybills and wagon cards.

Hello Carsten - welcome to the forum! And greetings from Berlin.

At certain times I am distracted from the garden railway with activities on the big railway
X-mas trips: and my permanent construction site - the 65 1057

Hi dunnyrail,

Sounds great.
In September 2024, I visited the beautiful half-timbered town of Quedlinburg. The HSB Selketalbahn starts there. And as you can see from my profile picture, the 99 6001 still runs there in regular operation every day. As mentioned, I got the LGB model 2080D in 1982. Two years ago, I bought the 25802 from LGB digital with sound, used in best condition. It is a more detailed model that was sold for the 125th anniversary of the LGB factory in Nuremberg.

Best Carsten

Sadly 6001 has been withdrawn for repairs, these may or may not be a while but will cost the HSB dear to run a 2-10-2 in it’s place. Having first met 6001 in 1981 on the Selktalbahn it was of course a must for my line, I also met her in France when she was visiting the Bai de Somme line in April 2016.P1040589.jpeg
