Harvey Watkins Hunslet at the Barle Valley

Hi folks
Chris Tilley, who was one of the earliest members of the 16mm Association, created the Barle Valley Light Railway in 1985 and over the years it has developed and grown in scale to 7/8ths. On Friday I was lucky enough to have a morning filming there with Chris, and the first loco was a wonderful might-have-been from Harvey Watkins (based on a Roundhouse Katie chassis). "Oolitic" is what Harvey thought a conventional Hunslet saddle tank version of the 18" gauge "Jack" might have looked like. And who are we to argue?!
You can see it here:

Oh yes! What a delightful engine and fantastic garden railway!! I wish I could build something so idyllic out here in the colony's

A delight to behold - both loco and line - enjoyed:thumbup:

Love the bucolic setting - robin singing and bees buzzing near the start of the video. Great railway and video (eg the right/left wipe about half way)! I could almost be tempted into the 'steamy' side of the hobby!

Thanks guys - Chris' line is indeed superb:)
And thanks for spotting the wipe Rik - that was more luck than judgement bit it seems to work!
Cheers

You could, Paul. However, most of the plants would be brown, not green, from the lack of rain. :(

Thanks for the video, Chris. I enjoyed the different camera angles. The Chris Tulley's BVLR is a wonderfully detailed railway and Harvey's Hunslet is a loco that I would love to have. It really looks great running.

Thanks guys - and narrrow gauge heaven indeed!
Paul - you don't have to convert, just dabble as I do. Convert a Millie or Regner (which doesn't take much conversion - just a bigger driver) and make some simple rolling stock - there are links on my website to . And it would look great on your line....:)
Cheers
Chris

An inspiration!
