Hello, I'm Sebastien from Rouen, Normandy, France

I own 2 wilesco live steam engines for a few years that I repaired and maintained.
Recently I wanted to get more serious: I bought an Aster Schools class that has never been run because the left crosshead was bent from the factory. I don't know why the original owner did not ask for a replacement to Aster Hobbies when he noticed that, probably because he did not intend to run it
I'm currently trying hard to bring it back to life!

Thanks!

Bonjour Sebastian.

That is a very nice loco. I hope that you can repair it....

Welcome to the forum Sebastien. That is indeed a lovely locomotive, hoping won't be too difficult to repair. You'll get a lot of advice and encouragement on here, just beware of the bad jokes

Welcome to the forum, nice Schools I gather from sundry articles in the G1 journal that they can be good machines with some tender loving care and minor improvements. Might be worth your while considering joining the Gauge 1 Association in UK. Members in France also.

Thanks!

Welcome! It's time for you to join the other 4000+ of us in the Gauge 1 Model Railway Association, and yes, we have members in La Belle France, too.

Lots of members have one of these very popular locos, the very first produced back in 1975. Your model looks totally like new, but we soon change all that.................... If you PM me, I'll put you in touch with some of your fellow countrymen.

Welcome to the Forum, Sebastien! That locomotive looks beautiful -I hope you get it running. When you do, let us know, and post some photographs. We like photographs!

Welcome aboard Sebastien.

Thanks for welcoming me
I'm currently away from home, I will post more photos of the dismantling soon
A nice person will send me a new crosshead, hopefully this will allow me to completely fix it!
I contacted G1MRA France and awaiting a response
