help - dismantling old playmobile 'brick'

p.williams

staying alive
I have a very old playmobile chassis block that i wish to modify to use MTS.
The top face is printed with the number ' 23914' with grey paint,
The lower face is stamped ' playmobile 1980 Gooba'
The block is fitted to a loco based on a Robert England 'Prince ' that i bought from Garden Rail Services some time ago.
The problem I have,is, Having removed both screws from the base of the unit,
How on earth do i get at the innards?
I can flex it from the ends, but it seems to be firmly attached in the middle of the baseplate. I am reluctant to use force. due to it's age. Is it possible to dismantle it without doing any damage or is it a 'sealed unit'?
Any help much appreciated
pete

Pete:
Assuming you can remove the brick completely from the superstructure, you should see that there are two plastic clips on each side that catch on top of the brackets holding the metal current collection hardware. Releasing both sets of clips will release the base plate.

Hello Pete,
you must stick a screwdriver into the black clamp.
The best way is to do it with 2 screwdriver one on each side.
Take care of the skater-springs.
