Homemade Snow Blower

So I've always wanted a snow blower, yes I know the physics doesn't really work with the scales involved and they're ridiculously expensive, they do look seriously cool on a layout and make a great talking point. After seeing this on eBay (see below photos) I thought I'd have a go at building my own. It's my first major g scale build and I hope you all enjoy! More will be posted as I go!

Sorry that's what I'm trying to recreate, here is what I'm starting with....

And I plan to put these computer fans on the front. They will probably end up shorting once a bit of snow gets in but only one way to find out.... The first fan has had a smaller one glued to the front. Both are standard 12volt so will run off a rechargeable battery with a remote control to adjust power accordingly.

I used the USAT rotary snow plow and added a much higher power motor for the blade.
It works in powder snow but wet or impacted snow defeats it.

That is nice work and looks the part and would do a great job of clearing the dust in my garage where I am having my sidings......yes the dust is that bad!!
A nice bit of modelling indeed.

Hi That's a nice model, you might like to check out Jerry Barnes snow blower on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coSV4Iqez3c
Jerry has been a regular on here and I think there's a build thread some where.

Wet, impacted snow can defeat many things, including my shovel :o

Quick update, all is sprayed in plastic primer, windows cut and assembled. Few bits to sort yet though....

There are some pictures on my web page, not sure if there is a link to it on here anymore or not. Not used to this new format. thescrr.com is my web page, then go down to the projects button and click on it, snow plow should be in the blue boxes on the left, click on it.
