For many years Iv wanted a hopper.

Basically a metal V hopper on a square 4-legged frame to suspend it above the track so I can fill my hopper wagon with stone/sand.

Is there anything like this already available on the market?

Like the hoppers that appeared in the original thomas series.

you know, i havent (not in g scale) these remind me of east coast coaling stations -i think NYC, Pennsy, might have been what i have seen-i dont think o scale would work but i think i have seen these types in that scale-Lionel etc

however, here in the US, i have seen, at auto supply stores, square funnels with a flex tube-similar to those youve pictured

these might be a starting point for you
the other might be plastic style milk jugs (at least the common style here in the US_might put the molded handles toward the center)

of course if you can find suitably sized hollow pyramids, youre half way home

sounds dumb, but ive seen stuff really change with a bit of paint and added structural changes and add ons
 
Iv been on the lookout for a square funnel for a while now actually, its the simple things that you can never get.
 
Halfords sell the square funnels for filling your oil with
 
What about Rainwater hopper's available from B&Q Wicke's etc or I have seen then for sale at boot sale's
