How Quick is FRED?

I have built myself a US Style FRED (Flashing Rear End Device) on a box car and I can adjust the frequency of the flasher. Does anybody know what the correct frequency should be?

1 FPS would be about right.

I didn't realise that Dragon could flash that fast!

I think Fred could manage 1ps.................just not for long......................
