All I have been given a boxcar, containing a Roanoake soundcard, a nasty selection of other bits, hall effect sensor, possibly an amplifier, definitely a home-brew power supply..

Initially, looking for information on the soundcard. - I have not found anything of note on these yet.

I will post pictures, if people think it will help?

Well, I take it that nothing has surfaced, although somehow the name sounds familiar................:think::think::think::think:

Maybe thinking of Roanoke home of good old Norfolk and Western, the Virginian and finally Norfolk Southern railways? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
Basis for my old HO American outline layout.

There was a Roanoake universal track-side effects box for sale on EvilBay, a short while back..
There are a couple of possible candidates for the original supplier, but there are other firms in the area who deal with electronics..

I will post some pictures.. Looks to be an odd circuit board has been used to cobble some of it together.. There is a 9V battery connector, as well as pickup from the track..
Owner had 'a wire come off', so stuck it where they thought it might go! :banghead::rolleyes:

Roanoake were a USA Manufacturer back in the 80's I remember fitting a few for customers. I think, if I'm remembering correctly the board had a distinct homemade look about them?
