Japanese DD51

I am a huge fan of Japanese trains and there is not much in G scale. I wanted a modern unit to go with some of my Aster cars, so I started a project to make a 1:32 DD51. Attached are some initial photos. I hope to have a few done in the blue train paint scheme as well and maybe a dummy unit or two so make a double header similar to the Hokutosei in real life.

The coach is an Aster coach. I did not make the model directly, I had it made for me by a small producer. It is brass. The center truck does turn. Apparently in real life the center truck adjusts the weight of the locomotive for rail adhesion. Seems a little over complex to me.

The DD51 is a very common locomotive in Japan but is slowly being replaced by DF200 diesel electrics. The DD51 is a diesel hydraulic. They are pretty popular with fans there.

Sugoi desu ne.....totemomo fantastic desu:thumbup:

Adam, what I would like to see in 1:29 would be the original doubledeck shinkansen on the Niigata line....travelled on them many times enroute to the ski slopes and onsen.....

Can't imagine what a double deck shinkansen would cost, but would be pretty cool. I am working on a N700 shinkansen project also, but I am not sure how it will turn out. I have the tubes and motors for it, but is kind of challenging.
