Has anyone had any experience with these remote controlled Kadeem couplers ? I watched the video made by Garden Trains on Youtube. They appear to be rather like a good idea.

I see them for about $49.00 each. I cannot figure if that includes the transmitter plus the coupler.

Appears you need the transmitter, and receiver, both sold separately..

From the Kadee webby-site..

All you have to do is attach the Actuated Body Mount Coupler² with Gearbox to your #830 body mount platform¹, plug the Servo into a mounted #11110 Receiver Kit (sold separately) that has been "bound" to your #11215 Hand-Held Transmitter (sold separately) and you are ready to Remote Uncouple Anywhere*.

Looks like $359.99 for a starter kit, which includes one coupler....Pricey !!! Then each coupler costs $49.99.

Just get the coupler and trigger from a servo output on your DCC decoder.

Or if you're battery by using one of the free outputs from your rx . Although if the thing operates on 2.4 GHz, which it probably does, you could try binding to a function on an extant controller, if you want to use Kadee's rx. We need Tony W to give an opinion on that option I would think

I'd sort of like to give it a go, but the price and the fact that I'm an electronic numpty has been putting me off.

I have played around with a Kadee servo uncoupler with an output on the ALPHA-3v3 ESC.
I built a proto pcb supply for the 5 volt servo power and 2 x servo outputs.
They work well although a servo reversing module

(A$5) is needed for one or the other servos.
Some in the field testing is being carried out by a Live Steam fan who also dabbles in battery R/C.
If successful I may build the plug in pcb which would sell for about A$30 for controlling 2 x servos plus the servo reverser.

In the meantime the Kadee servo uncoupler can be used as is (plus one reverser and a servo Y cable A$8)) with any of the regular 5 channel DSM2/DSMX RX's on the market.
The Channel # 5 bind button on any RCS TX handpiece could also be used, but will only control 1 x servo and may need a servo reverser.

$$$$$ being what they are, I will stick with my home-made hook and loop remote uncouplers.

My knuckle couplers sometimes uncouple automatically by themselves - and all for free :fubar::fubar::fubar::fubar::fubar:
