Nice photos. Would have liked to drop by but today was my lad's band practice day in our home studio.

Yes - it's a Hastings unit, scratch built. It has been to Stafford show once or twice, I have older pictures of it - I'll see what I can find - it is hand cut from steel sheet!

The Thumper (Similar to hastings unit) unit on the watercress line runs regularly and is worth a visit.

Lovely day at the winter meet - nice to see everyone and a throughly enjoyable time.

Looks like you had a good day!

Last time I saw the tramway layout in Biggleswade, I believe it was up for sale....

Would have loved to visit, but moving assistance to Watchet precluded that. Was the Show Dog Friendly? If so and will be next year could you mention it in your advice. Can then make the trip next year if it is on again.

Sadly a thumper unit on the Swindon & Cricklade Railway was destroyed by fire.

The secret when travelling on these trains was to avoid the motor carriage :nod::nod::nod:

Thumper units from recollection:

Hampshire 2 & 3 car
Sussex 3 car (slightly more rounded cab ends)
Hastings 2 & 6 car (slab sided, narrow bodied)

It was logical really, with such a history of EMU construction, just stick a generator in one of the carriages - seeeeeemples :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:
