Krupp RC engine

I’ve seen a Krupp RC engine for sale thought might be fun for my grandson to use. Are they any good. I’m currently running DC track powered

I have one that I bought spares / repairs for £5, which is now a static scrapper.

They are pretty poor quality build, and as far as I know, they don't do R1 curves or points due to the wheel geometry.
I would rather put my money into a Bachmann ( and I really don't like Bachmann :wasntme: ) or cheap/old LGB/PIKO.

Exactly what I needed to know thank you

I guess that this is the Newquida 2-6-2 loco....

Be aware that although it is basically a copy of the LGB model, it is far from the same standard.
Plastic wheels, quite light, a cheap RC system, blue LED lights, and a really annoying 'sound' system.
A much cheaper motor, and drive. A 7.2V (usually) NiCad battery.

There was a German(?) manufacturer, who would take your loco, and fit a better chassis.
Zenner, I believe? - Not seen them mentioned for a while, so might have stopped?

<Edit>
The store is still there:
