Lady Ann Tender Engine

Here are some Pics of my new Tender engine, I used a Lady Anne chassis kit I bought second hand, a new boiler and R/C kit. The tender and upper part of the cab is from a GRS brass etching kit I bought second or third hand. I tried to identify the kit on the GRS website but could not, I attached the photo that was on the package I got the etchings in.
I just ordered some dress up parts from a Round House. My next step it to add Red pin stripping then a clear gloss coat, followed by final assembly.

Modified the boiler cap and steam dome with a goodall valve. I will be able to refill without removing the steam dome, which would be too hot when running.

Steve,
Very impressed.
Could you take a pic or two of the coupling between loco & tender?
Would be helpful to me, and maybe others.

thats a 1st claass build, it looks like it was bought from roundhouse that way:thumbup:

That is really very nice Steve....

Never throw out old steamer parts, the connection on the engine is from a Ruby I modified years ago. The tender connection is just a brass drawbar and the tender has a 4-40 bolt and uses a locking nut to retain. The foot plate between the tender and engine, Swashplate(?) incorporates a 4-40 bolt to engage the tender drawbar and will also be retained with a locking nut.
Some pics as requested.

Thank you, Steve.
I'm looking for ways to improve my Billy/Tender coupling.

It really is very impressive Steve - I am a big fan of tender locos on NG and yours looks excellent.
I was very interested to watch the video and was surprised to hear that butane was not giving enough pressure indoors. You should get plenty of heat from butane if the ambient temp is about 60F and above. I only use Butane in the Summer and only use mix in the Winter.
I do like the water top up system, but you may need to top up the lubricator as well during an hours run......
Cheers
Chris

I am going to try just butane with the larger tank and see how that works out. I was runnig without a water bath and there was no conductive heat from the chassis to help warm the tank.
At the end of the run there was still oil in the lubricator, but consrvative running at first on the railway will be the rule to make sure there is still oil in the lubricator at the end of each run.
I am waiting for some dress up parts to arrive then the firts run on the railway. Could not run this weekend due to family schedule and actual rain in SOCAL.

Steve
