2-6-6-2 WEST VIRGINIA PAPER & PULP CO. SADDLE TANK
These Mallet design locos were the forerunners of such legendary locos such as the 4-6-6-4 Challenger and the 4-8-8-4 Big Boy locos. It has articulating front and rear drive trucks and is as rare as Hens Teeth. I kid you not. I spent months searching the web for one of these as they very rarely come up for sale new never mind second hand. If you check my other loco for sale you will see I am moving 100% to diesel locos so this and the other one are my very last ones for sale. This cost me to buy, ship from the States and pay taxes on over £1200 plus a DCC sound decoder at £200. It has been oiled and greased as per Bachmann instructions using their lubricants. No damage.
Bachmann details are:
• nonproprietary plug-and-play electronics interface to accommodate the control system of your choice, including DC, NMRA DCC, and radio control/battery operation
• two custom wound motors with flywheels
• two idler gear boxes
• prototypical equalized chassis under both power assemblies
• all-wheel driver pickup
• die-cast scale knuckle couplers, front and rear
• constant lighting of LED headlight, cab light, and rear light
• easy access to four switches in boiler to choose track or battery power pickup, operation according to NMRA or large scale model railroading practices, motor power on/off with or without lights, and center “off ” position for DCC or DC operation of cab light and firebox flicker
