Roundhouse look to have another winner with the announcement of their new locomotive Lilla.

It's the nearest thing to a scale model I've seen from RH - maybe it's the satin finish paint and finer details. I'd be very happy to own one.

I've figured it out.

It's the pilot beam!!!!!

It's rivetted!

And not held on with slot-head screws!!!

I might just have to invest in one of these locos now.

The buffer beam is an overlay of thin sheet. They have been available for years.

Uh, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. Rob Bushill makes them as an after market item.

But, TMK, it's the very first time that Roundhouse have put one on a factory locomotive, right?

Wrong! - my Roundhouse 'Leek and Manifold' came from the factory with brass buffer overlays in 2013 - and my RH 'Atlantic' came with standard factory fitted overlays and rivets in 2011 ....
