Nice steady runner and even better for Rod Blakeman's modification. This 'set the pattern' for subsequent production runs.

Large capacity boiler and gas tank which will give you a lengthy run with the added feature of a goodall valve in the water feed tube located in the cab, should you mind it necessary to 'top up'.

The radio control gives you total command and WOW, that fitted whistle.

The Cowans Sheldon railway crane is a wonderful piece of model engineering by Roger Marsh which works under it's own power to manoeuver those final yards to the lifting position.
The jib will lift and swing through 180 degrees and has stabilisers to allow it to cope with small engines.

Please check the 'duo' running on this youtube video http://youtu.be/qTauGpEr6dA

Looks Fantastic. I like the steam crane behind too.

Absolutley superb, I'll wager it has a price tag to match.....

What a beautiful locomotive and crane. I'm after an LGB/Aster Garrett, but can't afford one (yet). One day...... :D

Very, very nice indeed - and the continuous exhaust plume - superb.

Nice one Trevor! any chance of seeing the crane in operation?...............Paul..........

Hi Paul Thanks for comments. I have been a bit reluctant in the past to video the operation because my hand would get in the way a bit because the switch/lever panel in the middle of the cab.
These are manually operated.
The power is generated from rechargable batteries which are invisable and tucked away at the rear of the cab.
The control panel has four levers
Hook, Swing, Travel and Jib. These are controlled by four levers in a row. If the levers are down the relative operations are disengaged.
When a lever is engaged (up), the up/down, left/ right swing depends on the forward /reverse position of the large seperate lever/handle seen at the rear side of the cab.
The two operations, Jib and hook, can each be locked to prevent them crashing down. Locking is by either of the two large white screw tight wheels shown in the picture. You will appreciate that the jib for instance needs to be locked in position before the hook starts it's lift,
All these ops need progressive power of course and this is provided by the large throttle lever also in the pic. As stated in my first posting the crane will move under it's own power forward or reverse. Engage travel lever and operate forward/reverse and power as indicated.
Fairly straight forard really. There are four seperate stabilisers, two on each side and the maker has conveniently provided small blocks to give a stable surface!
Regards Trevor
