LGB 2201 or LGB 62201 Motor

I need a new motor for my old Spreewald. I have the choice of a LGB 2201 or a LGB 62201 motor; both motors are new in sealed packages and will cost me about the same amount. I know the 62201 is the newer version of the "same" motor, but are the two truly the same? They look different so it seems the construction is not identical. Is either one better than the other? Should I opt for one over the other? Or does it matter? Thanks.

The general difference is that the 62201 has internal bearings that replace the external ball bearings that were installed at the ends of the motor shaft on older locos. I would suggest that you check your Spreewald to see if has the two external bearings and the mounting points for them. (My best guess is it wouldn't.) If it does not, the 62201 is the only way to go. If it does have external bearings, you can use either, BUT remove the external bearings if you use the 62201.
