LGB 23900 MTS-fitted Duo question

Do any of the gurus of GSC have knowledge of what DCC chip is fitted to the 23900 "Duo" loco and how the various functions are connected? Any photos of the guts of the loco would be appreciated.

Zerogee's 21900 is fitted with an early 55020 decoder, but I believe he is going to update it with a more modern Massoth S decoder....

Here's the pic of the guts of my "mystery" digitised 21900, Peter, but as per previous discussions it is of unknown provenance..... still don't know if it's a factory, dealer or personal conversion, and I have no idea whether the internals are anything like the production 23900 versions. As Gizzy said, it's got an old 55020 in it which is due for direct replacement with a Massoth L, plus an added Massoth S for sound. As it stands, both coupler motors work together via a little black box (presumably a relay) in the centre of the board, controlled by F1 (one push opens, next push closes).

Don't know if this is any help at all?
Jon.

The 23900 appears to have a standard small onboard decoder with an extra bit added to do the uncoupling.

I thought the onboard decoder only had F1 and F2? The 23900's instructions indicate the couplings are controlled by F2/F3. Anyone got pictures inside a 23900 rather than the 21900?

As I said, the uncoupling is done by an extra PCB ( function decoder ? ) and not the main decoder.

Honest guv, I was listening!
Any writing on the extra PCB and into what socket of the onboard decoder is it plugged?

The little board has leads that plug into the front lighting socket & the F1/F2 socket. The board has 5 sockets, 2 for the uncouplers, 2 for the front lights & one which disappears into the cab. The roof lights I would guess.
The outputs are not necessarily functions 2 & 3 as mine has been reprogrammed to 1 & 2 to match another shunter with a different decoder.
