LGB 69572 Sound Tender

I have a spare one of these so I thought I would use the motor unit to power a train build that I am working on.

I unscrewed the body from the motor block, unclipped all the leads that go back to the sound unit.

So now I have what I want a motor block for my project. ONLY PROBLEM IS IT DON'T WANT TO WORK

Does anyone know if this is because it needs to be connected to the sound unit to function?

If so then its back to the drawing board. :crying:

The motor block should have 4 pins on top which all have to be connected to something. The outer 2 connect to the track and the inner 2 to the motor. You can either connect a DCC decoder onto the motor pins or simply link the 2 left hand pins together and the 3 right hand pins together and the motor will run from track power. Ideally you should add a TV interference suppression capacitor but this is not essential.

Thanks for that. I assume the TV bit is built into the board with the sound?
I'm not DCC so if I link the 2 left together and the 3 right together, I will have a standard motor block. Yes?
