LGB Barmer coach

I repainted these in the 80s Cant remember exactly how I dismantled, but i would imagine its a case of unscrewing the bogies, remove the roof ( may have screws in the ends or simply clips off), then just a case of removing the glass (plastic windows) then remove the interior fittings, seat etc. on some LGB coaches the window glass helps to keep the seats etc in place!

If the window prove difficult to remove due to hardened with time adhesive try soaking in a bucket of soapy water sounds daft but usually works!!

Hope this helps

Thanks Steve.
I see there two screws in the middle, underneath. Must investigate.

BTW Lawley is still running OK. (MR No 6 Glen Dour).

You have the advantage of me there...... Lawley isnt that a 4-4-0 I cant remeber that one!!!!!

EDIT Yes I can it was the Accucraft 0-6-0!! Glad to hear it is still running OK!

The triggered a memory of a proposed 4-4-0 live steam tender loco proposed by Tom Cooper ( Merlin Models) many years ago, I believe they ran in South Africa. But I dont think any models were actually made.

Sorry, Steve, do I have the wrong guy?
Steve Lewis in Buckley? I bought Accucraft steamy 0-6-0 Lawley a few years ago.

Barmer screws are not in the middle, but under the bogie mountings.

No it was me re the 0-6-0!

The screws most likely secure the chassis to the body, no problem removing LGB stock is fairly simple/ robustly constructed and easily reassemble ( except for some of the more sophisticated items such as the RhB railcar that needs several pairs of simultaneous hands!!)

Yes, Steve, got moving on this one...

Removed the chassis, and the end balconies fell off, along with the saloon doors.
I could then insert a finger and prise the roof away.
Previous owner had installed lighting with a pair of large bulbs, and generously glued the windows back, sticking some of the roof tabs as well.
Managed to get them out and scrape xs glue away.

Masked up and re-spray under way.

One down, one to go.
