LGB Depesche Index

Does anyone on the forum own any of the LGB Depesche Index booklets? It may be the one covering issues 1 to 79 (1969 to 1994) that I'm interested in (did they then issue an index per year?), but anything covering the years up to 2004 may be relevant.

Using the indexes, I'm hoping to identify which copy of Depesche I need!

Best wishes

David

Thanks Vince

Your link has allowed me to check the cover pictures, and the "headline" contents, but no joy. That's a very useful site for checking the LGB models included in each catalogue (by allowing you to download PDF copyies). Unfortunately the "Depesche" section douesn't provide any downloads, just images of the front covers. Thanks for trying to help, though.

In case anyone out there has some oldish Depesche magazines, the edition I'm looking for (or even to identify) is the one where advice was offered for converting an LGB 2090 4-wheel diesel into a 6-wheel HF130 type diesel (sometime before LGB brought out their own HF130 models in 2005). I have acquired one such conversion, and have found a reference to it on a German forum in 2007, saying (translation by Google) “based on an old plan in the LGB Depesche from the small, originally 2-axle LGB diesel locomotive” and “HF diesel in connection Kistenfabrik (the locomotive is a conversion of my father from the small two-axle LGB locomotive, after an older LGB-Depesche)”.

All the best

I have a few older ones, but any idea of the year? Can take an age looking through a few years worth of mags. If I have it happy to help in any way I can.

Not sure of the year, other than being before 2005 (when LGB released their HF130 models). That's why it's the Indexes that are my starting point, to try to identify the issue it was in.

Cheers

Not sure what you mean by the HF130, do you mean a loco like the 23620? There was indeed a 4 wheel and 6 wheel version if this type but it is outside frame unlike 2090 which has i side frames but likely a similar body. Will have a look for you in any case.

No, not a 23620. It was an article (plans?) to convert the bodywork parts of one of these . . .

. . . into one of these . . .

. . . long before LGB actually made one (in 2005).

This is my acquisition (as bought) off German eBay (several years ago now) that it is suggested was a result of the Depesche article in question . . .

Your converted example looks much better proportioned compared to my own pair.

The cabs look too small especially when next to my DUO 2090 lok....

Ok have had a look for you of Depesche 2005 missing 4/2005 prior to that I think it may have been LGB Telegram, certainly issues I have before that daye are named that but appear to be US biased, perhaps I think there were two versions in those days an English Language one and a German Language one? Have looked through Telegrams for 2004 no joy.

prior to that I think it may have been LGB Telegram
LGB Publication List suggests that "Telegram" might have been produced (in English) between 1989 and 2004.

LGB Publication List suggests that "Depesche" was produced from 1969 to 2004 in German only, while from 2005 onwards there have been versions of "Depesche" in both German and English (hence why yours start in 2005, presumably).

So, as what I'm looking for was definitely in "Depesche", it seems likely that any assistance might come from our members in Germany.

Cheers

Hi David,

I just found this thread - did you ever pin-point the Depesche magazine you needed?

The GartenBahn DataBase seems to have all the Depesche mags and the indexes ready for download:

Head to the homepage here: GartenBahn DatenBank
and search (on the left) for 'Depesche'

Hope that helps!
Tony
