Dear All,

Does anyone know the age or catalogue number of this item from e-bay?
Item number: 350817923927

Cosmetically it looks very similar to go with a rake of cat number 3064 coaches that I have that date from the 1980s and I would like to buy one to go with them.
I would like to search for similar items on ebay but am not having much luck! I lost track of LGB catalogue numbers when they went 5 digit and have not seen a catalogue for years!

I spotted that earlier today. To be honest I am not sure that it is genuine LGB, as to my knowledge they never produced a brake coach of this type.

I model OBB narrow gauge and LGB have not produced a brake coach in either brown or orange and cream, which I think they would have if they had the tooling.

Others on here may know more....

I'd concur with Ashley, the 3064 is the basic bogie coach in RhB markings, in red and cream. It looks like some enterprising modeller has added the goods door himself, and painted a Furka Oberalp logo over the RhB one.
There is certainly nothing like this in the LGB Kompendium.
The conversion looks to have been quite well done, so if you want one then I'd try to get it - after all, the seller ships worldwide AND takes Paypal, so no problems getting it from Germany; I've bought lots of stuff via ebay.de and got some fantastic bargains that way!

Jon.

Ashley,

Interesting indeed. Thanks. That was at the back of my mind when I looked at the FO decals, but the brake compartment looks so good, I rather hoped that it was an original model that had somehow passed me by!

The same vendor has a green one too- Item number: 350817929575

Neither accompanying text says anything about these being conversions or DIY models, in fact it seems to imply that the packaging is original. Curiously though, neither shows or mentions the item number. This tends to suggest that you are right.

I may still bid on the 3064 type, although the price is getting quite high now

Jon,

Thanks for your reply too. I may well do as you suggest, although I will watch the prices first.

E bay in Germany and USA are definitely good places to find interesting LGB items, although the postage and customs costs of buying from America does tend to make the old eyes water! It also make the costs of buying from Germany seem a whole lot more cost efective!

Best wishes,
James

I did chase it, but dropped out at ?150. In the end it went for ?207!

The green one went for a good amount to.

I consoled myself with a nice early 2033 works loco, but that still just leaves me needing a decent brake/pick-up van for my 3064s and 3063s!

I am thinking of either using an earlier style LGB white bodied van, or painting one of my older 3019 vans in red. At present the rake runs with a brown pick-up van, which just looks wrong.

Thanks Paul,

It would seem churlish not to acceept! Yes please. Not sure that I have the necessary skills/knowledge to do a good job like the item on e-bay, but your parts would certainly give me the opportunity to try and more importantly, experiment - without heartbreak, if it doesn't quite work out as planned.

Years ago LGB would supply whatever bits you asked for, provided you either sent a drawing or told them the part number. Now they rarely bother to even reply. Such a shame. I wil be great to be free to tinker once again. Please let me know what I owe you.

I am in Warwickshire.
