I have been doing a little model project for a friend and he has aquired a LGB Hiedi loco but it appears to have a twisted frame. Whan it sits on the track it wobbles quite a bit but another loco with simialar wheel arrangment does not. I have check all the obvious and am seeking help from the world of wisdom in this forum.

Regards steve

Check that the skates are moving up and down freely. It could be rocking on a stuck skate. Mine has a habit of melting the small spring that loads the skate - over current.

If the wheels and motion have been taken apart then re-assembled slightly out of time the loco will waddle from side to side. Might make some clicking noises too.
To be honest I've never heard of a LGB loco having a twisted frame, they are pretty substantial.

Also check that the centre driving axle which is slightly sprung, is equally sprung and not causing 'wobble'

Turn the loco upside down and look along the driving wheels the centre axle should be level.

Also check that the pony truck is free to move easily both vertically and horizontally and nothing is preventing its full movement vertically.

It may be nescessary to remove the keeper plate and check that the drivers gears are correctly meshed
