Hello out there in the world big models.
Does anyone have experience with Digitrax and decoders from LGB / Lenz 55020 or 55021?
With my Massoth command station the two vehicles work, but on the HSM layout with Digitrax command station, two vehicles with Lgb / Lenz decoders 55020 and 55021 do not run. I have heard that 28 / 128 speed levels are required.

You need to ensure that your DCC command station's Address and Speed Steps are set to match the decoder. The old LGB 55020 is only 14 Speed Steps per Greg Elmassian's Website data listed below. The LGB 55021 can be set to either 14 or 28 Speed Steps. Also, I assume your specific Digitrax DCC command station is for large scale, not smaller scale, locomotives......large scale DCC output required for LGB locomotive decoders is 18 - 22 volts. Smaller scales outputs less voltage.

Massoth 55020 will do 28 speed steps but not 128 steps.
Dan, then Greg's Website is incorrect which states 14 Speed Steps only. Are you sure both the Lenz-verison and Massoth-version will both do 28 Speed Steps?

Also, the OP's problem may also be Serial v. Parallel control with his DCC system?

I want to hear the answer, the information came from Dan ha ha!

Dan, you better look at post #4 in this thread:

That post is by you.

So, you can probably read the MFG id CV and determine if it is a Lenz or Massoth.... that is what I would do first as opposed to conjecture.

Greg

Thank you for your answers. I'll change both decoders.
