LGB Push-In Bulbs

After replacing a decoder in a loco, I foolishly thought the 5v push-in bulbs were 19v. I was wrong and 6 blown bulbs later I'm looking for a pack of LGB Push-In bulbs (preferable white 19-24V ones). Does anyone know a UK based retailer that sells them by the packs or the appropriate search query for a non-official alternative?

There are 2 kinds of push in bulbs, one has a flatter head than the other. Wish I could remember which is which but GRS, Kent Garden Railway are likely to be able to supply. Another link showing the types:-

Round top are 19v, flat top are 5v.

Excellent, thank you both. I forgot to check garden railways.

Question, are the 19v 'dimmer' at full voltage? I've got some of the 19v in another loco and I feel like the 5v at 5v is brighter than 19v at 19v or is this just my mind?

I'm also wondering if there are LED equivalents available? I guess they could be easily manufactured with a little bit of stuff wire and a micro emitter.

If fitting LEDs, you will need a series resistor, which usually means opening the loco to fit this unobtrusively.
Obviously, they are also polarity sensitive.

Yes, the 19V bulbs appear dimmer.
You can alter this, if you are DCC, AND you have the lights connected directly to decoder outputs. - But not if the lamps are fed from the original circuitry.

I have all three push-pin bulbs listed on my Website here in the USA shown below........you can order from your UK G scale dealer using the part numbers. The optimum voltage for the 5 volts is 6 volts; you can power the 19 volts with 19 - 21 volts if you want them brighter. If you're operating a DCC system, you can adjust the voltage output on the lights terminals to these higher voltages. There are also available LED push-pin light bulbs with internal resistors available that work well in LGB locomotive headlights and rear lights.

I have seen 3 pushin type bulbs in LGB products. Flat top are 5-6 volts, round top are 18 volts, however there is an 8 volt pushin used in some engines and looks like the 18 volt bulb. Saw these in the American 20230, 20232 small steam engine.

Dan, I'm not aware of LGB making any 18 volt push-pin bulb, only the screw-in base type. Maybe a different brand......do you have a part number for it?

I have used the same original fittings with cheapo LEDs (with resistors on a PCB inside) on an old LGB analog loco - the pin size and spacing worked well, simply trimming down the LED tails, and the lamp lines up well with the headlamp lens. So, a feasible option.

I had an early Stainz, clamshell type, and with no electronics the screw in bulbs must have been around 18 volts
