My streetcar was complete, and then after an extended run, was bereft of its trolley poles and small pantograph. I have looked everywhere but due to their propensity to BOING, I imagine that they could have fired off into the undergrowth.
Are there spares available for the pole and the small pantograph piece? Tried Googling but no luck

heres what i have concluded
no parts
and unlikely to be re-issued
(since these were made in china, i imagine the chinese have a 'lien' on the molds etc-it seems much of the items produced in china are now made from "unobtainium" - i was lucky to get a step for the vandy tender

if you look at the train li site,
-even motor blocks and wheels are not available -even from germany-and this proprietor is well connected there as i understand things

id suggest that you scour the premises-they must be there somewhere

ive gotten to the point where im reluctant to run mine much because of this issue of parts, and the trolleys are not exactly robust with all the details and the relatively brittle chinese plastic

Thanks for the info Steve...into the undergrowth I go. It is probably caught on, and well camouflaged with some ivy etc. But It is going to be a tall order for find them!!

Mike the Bachmann trolley pole is available for $8.00 plus postage from Bachmann.com if that helps. I'm not sure what the other pick up was on those trams, single arm panto ?

Jerry

http://www.westminster-miniatures.com/categories.php?cat=341 < Link To Sommerfeldt makes an O gauge single arm panto ref number SF997 its for a swiss loco but looks like some tram panto's not sure on the size though

Thanks Jerry and Cliff.

I will have a gander at the bachmann jobbie.
I think that second hand one is going to be a leeetle beeet expensive for just the poles but maybe someone has totally traqhed theirs and only has the poles left intact...fat chance eh?
That website, Cliff, is a great resource for interurban parts, kitbashing etc excellent

Hmmmmm I found the bachmann ones didn't work so I made my own. Pictures on my blog and here somewhere. I found it was the easiest solution..... But I desire an LGB streetcar with or without poles but the price is the killer.....

The only problem you may have with lightrailproducts.com is that you can't order direct from the internet, you have to print off an order form and send it to them with a cheque drawn an american bank in dollars, one of the reasons i've never managed to get anything from them. May be one of the american members could get parts and send them on to you?

I took the trolley pole off my Bachmann tram and replaced it with an LGB panto I got from Philbahn.

I think I gave the pole to Bigjack, so it might be worth giving him a call to see if he still has it....

Hi Jerry, I didn't look at the ordering part but now I can see that it is like from the dark ages!

Gizzy thanks for the heads up, I will give Steve a call today

My sympathies, same thing happened to me, ping, off into space but suddenly reappeared about three weeks later. Tram hasn'r been out since, was just going to glue the thing on

Hi Glen, I will just have to be careful with my cutting back of the foliage! :@

No problem Mike, I converted my New Orleans cars to working overhead using modified Bachmann trolley poles.
Just follow the pictures (the brass Bachmann pole are cut down to size) Alyn

To remove the roof just pull the ventillator cowl off under these the fixing screws for the roof are found. The trolley poles (cut down) are pivoted using dome head screws tapped into the roof. To make the poles live, fit brass shims and brass wipers to the trolley bass, and solder the poles to the sprung bases. Hope of help. Alyn

Well I had decided I might have to go tearing through not only the railroad foliage but it was that time of year that the blackbirds were building their nests so I would probably find the thing eight feet up in a fir tree or summat. I mean, I could imagine a blackie saying, wow, here's a nice bit of building material, Mrs Blackie might be nice to me tonight if I came home with this for the nest. And so on......
Anyway you seem to be getting a bit of fairly sound advice now

Hi Alyn
Nice work
I have lost the two whole pantographs and poles. Is the pole and pantograph in your conversion, Bachmann?

I took the roof off before, to place the figures inside and investigate LED lighting

Mike, I'd sack the motorman pronto! :rolf:

He has been demoted to shed sweeper!
He had left the streetcar running during a lovely balmy evening and the BOINGS! had gone unnoticed

Mike, as I said in the post, the poles and trolley bases are all Bachmann products (just that the trolley poles are shortened) as fitted to their four wheel trams. Alyn

Just a thought, I think Aristo PCC cars are currently in production so spare poles for these may be easier to obtain than LGB poles.
