Great work. I've been looking for a small caboose to replace the Lionel caboose I bought last year. The Lionel model is taller than I had expected and hits the top of the tunnel under my foot path. Several of the LGB models are on Ebay USA. Prices all over the place.

Strange thing,i picked up a Lionel caboose last Friday!!I know nothing about the car,red,4axles,cargo door on one side, contains 2 huge batteries, interior light gives out about 2 million candlepower :)lettering on the side read Lionel 1  89,so assume from that year?,can anyone fill me in ?think i can bash that but other projects in the pipeline to do first,,as for the Lill Hauler item, had the same prob, had to work from the bottom, hardest thing was cutting the cupola windows with the roof on!!!!! :) Neil.

nice work on the toy train caboose!
I think they are sleepers. Nicely proportioned and very versatile for not only small locos but larger ones too.

While it has been sometime since I have looked, as I recall, they are very close to a Florence and Cripple Creek and/or Uintah (one in the same I believe) caboose, as well as being close to a Westside Lumber caboose too.

I am inspired to repaint and spruce up one of my two.

Thanks for the info on the caboose, very useful, not started it yet,but i think can do something with it,as not seen one before close up,seeing it on the second hand shelf in the shop, just couldnt resist it!!! Thanks again,Neil
