LGB Toy Train Coach

On a recent visit to Steve at Back2bay6, I purchased a S/H Toy Train coach modern part no 93402.
A good basic model, and I know that some have been mounted back to back on bogie under-frames.
But can anyone, show what they did to improve, this model? Such as glazing etc!

HI
just been browsing through some of the topics I have not seen, I have a lot of catching up to do and came across your toy train coach .I hope it is this type of coach, I have made 8 different types including a parcel van this is just one type I have done with a closed front end with steps and hand rail and glazed .

If the interior layout is similar to the Playmobil coaches, glazing can be done simply by slipping a suitable sized sheet of plastic down the inside of the carriage sides and glueing it in place.

I have two bought off ebay, the previous owner did a good job of repainting them in blood & custard then glazed them with some thin clear plastic. I took them to bits and painted up the wooden platform and steps, gave both a light weathering to the underframes then put in some figures - Pola and LGB - then put them back together again. I'm really pleased with them and they look good behind my Fiery Elias, in fact they look good behind a Stainz too with an extra van behind. The scope for improvement from toy to model is there and relatively easy too. Pictures to follow as it is dark!

There have been many conversions of these to Bogie Coaches either using 2 of them or marrying one up to a van. You could use an old Bachman Bogie USA Coach, second hand they are dead cheep. Or even an LGB USA Bogie Coach, Glendale has a couple or more in at around £45 each. A Total Steel for Conversions at that price I reckon.

Andy Rush made one out of 2 Toy Train Coaches using a Bachman Chassis as suggested above. But it was very heavy. It now lives near Lowestoft way with Lordraglan.
