Coal fired Patriot 'The Royal Leicestershire Regiment' finds it's feet at Thurnby in August.
I challenge any Great Western fan to tell me that this is not just a beautiful engine

Well I am rather a fan of the old GWR and I certainly would not say any such thing ? it is indeed superb.

It is a beautiful engine Trevor. Probably because it's a 4-6-0.
A tapered boiler and a repaint would improve its looks no end :)

Beat me to it Steve

Still a bootiful engine though...

Glad someone else was thinking along the same lines, Matt!
I only wrote it to pull Trevor's leg of course :)
In fact the last 5 Patriots, 5552 to 5557, were built with William Stanier's taper boiler and so became the first of the Jubilee class.
Cheers!

Deleted - rubbish info!

I suspected that the Great Western boys would be up and about so here is a video of a City class running last month. HAPPY NOW?
