mallet improvements

That looks the business!

Impressive.
I have seen a video of, I think, an LGB 2-8-2 on an indoor layout but the smoke on that seemed VERY shortlived.
I wonder how long this can last and how big is the smoke oil reservoir?
I can't understand the merits of the "trick" smokebox door. A lot of intricate work for something of an oddity.

Did you notice the footplate door opening as well.

Back in the GSM days someone posted a vid of a German 2-6-4 tank (I think?) which not only had a pulsing smoke generator in the chimney, but also one for the cylinders. Anyone else remember that and can post a link to the vid?

...and I think it also produced "steam" from the whistle.
Was it a Kiss loco?

You mean those Aristo malletts and the lengthy hopper train? Funny thing is, I watched those and thought "don't like the sound much". Maybe that's what they should sound like, maybe the sound on the clip is poor, maybe the speakers on my laptop aren't brilliant but there was something that put me off. Nice models though!

Do I notice signs of simulated grey smoke in some of these clips posted earlier, especially that first LGB mallet clip? There seemed to be some contrast in colour between the general plume and the white "puffs".
