image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg The latest addition to the CFR locomotive roster is a Mamod "Boulton" locomotive. Boulton is a nice medium sized locomotive and compares well the the Roundhouse Harlech Castle. Dimensions are:- length over buffers 245mm, width 90mm, height 150mm. It weighs in at 1.5kg. It has a 12v motor with bevelled gears. The locomotive can be run with eight 1.5v AA batteries, rechargeable batteries can also be used and can be charged in situ. There is a charging socket in the cab alongside an on/off toggle switch and a forward/reverse toggle switch. The variable speed controller is operated by turning the exhaust stack.
I ran the locomotive light engine for a couple of hours straight from the box with no problems. I then ran the locomotive for eight hours with various consists, again without any problems
