Mamod Mark II - availability as a kit or improvements

Dear all!

I´m going to order a new Mamod Mark II but would like to know if there are any rumors about the availability as a kit or if there any improvements planned so far.

your link referres to the old Mamod which has - that´s what I saw in the specs - unfortunately nothing in common with the new Mamod Mark II.

Try it again - I got the William 2 - which definitely looks like not the original Mk1
 
I placed an order for the Mark II due to the fact that there´s no kit in sight.

it might arrive next week, so a first report on the forum could be given by end of next week.

It is an interesting looking product, The MK I had a favourable review in Garden Rail when it appeared a couple of years back.

The price is steadily creeping up though. The MK I had a launch price of £170, then went to £199, now it's £219 or £239 for the Gauge 1/G version. The MK II has some nice improvements, not least the chimney that actually smokes, though at £300 it's gtting into Wiliam territory and the gap to more serious live steam locos is not as huge either. Mamod have a charm of their own though.

I will be interested to see a report of this on the forum
