There is in scratchbuilding an interesting thread on the Bachmann ge45ton loco and how to bring it near a more acceptable scale !and what ajob trammayo has done ! I bought one of these brutes few years back and what a brute its big but also a very good runner so I rebuilt it to a boxcab and still I did not like it so back to the works to be rebuilt again as further variation on boxcab better but still not right !1 then a flick through an old railway Modeller discovered a set of drawing forone of the il lfated NIR Hunslet Enterprise locos nicknamed baby Westerns aeureka moment was and off to work i went it took nearly 8months of stop start to other commitments but heres the result something different !

fantastic work!:thumbup:do you have any build photos?

Thats a very nice loco:thumbup: You would never guess it's parentage - the trucks have been completely altered (nice touch) - totally from an ugly lump to a very desirable loco. I never knew about these (and me a Leeds lad:thumbdown:)Thanks for your comments by the way.

Nice to have you back Gareth- I've always liked your stuff, you have a knack of making stuff look right without resorting to rivet counting. This beastie is no exception!

Hats off to you Gareth - that's tidy (always had a soft spot for Westerns). I've spent the afternoon botching a log wagon out of a Newqida box and an LGB flat so I can appreciate the work that's gone into that loco!

I love it.

A great British look from an un-used model is always a good option.
