Killed my little micro gas torch today, went shopping for new one, most places wanted £25 plus for something not very good,

Then whilst looking in Robert Dyas for something else found a little micro torch sold as a Chefs Torch for 9.99 , Sold under the brand Colour works, has adjustable flame.
Tis wonderful and a shade of the price of the micro torches in the diy outfits.

mini blow torch, use for soldering track etc

Soldering any solderable metal, shrinking heat shrink, softening styrene prior to bending/shaping , lighting birthday candles basically anything that a normal gas torch is used for including singeing hair and forming blisters.

They are a neat, useful tool and cheap. Just don't drop them and bend the neck tube!!

"Chef's Torch" .....Brilliant... TV chef's tools...viewers keep buying them...most buyers use once and forget them---too much trouble... like bread makers, ice cream makers, soda streams....etc etc.. :rolf:
But essential for getting the crusty top to your Creme Brulee....

I've got a different make with a shorter more squat body and find it a very useful little tool and only cost about £7 from the local hardware shop about 2 years ago.

Jon.

Keep an eye on Aldi, they often sell the Chef's blowlamp for less than £10, I think mine was £7.
Runs off butane or butane/propane mix from lighter cans, has a little piezo igniter.

Solders, releases small seized nuts on the car, even leave it ticking over to light my big silver soldering torch every time I blow it out with the reflected heat from a confined space.

Best of all it lives in the kitchen so I can find it!
