Damn funny, a lovely film with darned good belly laughs. Antipodean filming at its best. Goes in the same section as 'Crocodile Dundee ' (only first one) and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'

Malcolm has some brilliant scenes, I have seen the Honda they used in the movie, interesting engineering to get it to work.
 
Yes the Honda is at the Film & sound Archive.... Incidentally a great source of material for model research....
I enjoyed the movie and I'd have done the same thing had I been left alone in Preston Workshops.....

My son did manage to download it - took more than 24 hours to do it (whoever was uploading must have been able to peel an orange in his pocket). Look forward to sticking the DVD into the player when I have some spare time!

Tried to get some Cuprinol 5* - needle in a haystack out in the West (even though Cuprinol is a registered company over here) - ended up with Protim clear. It does the same job (accordinging to its' own promotional blurb) and I used to buy Protimized timber back in the UK as an alternative to Tanalised when needing to preserve the colour of the wood.

Time will tell!

Of course I didn't build it all by myself. The trams were never built alas.
 
Its the bottom station of the Shipley Glen Tramway. I had the idea of a connecting line (same gauge as the funicular - 500mm) from the bottom station with the River Aire footbridge crossing from Saltaire - huge tourist potential. I got the new buildings and line through planning but supervening events - end of the £50 Light Railway Orders, road crossing and the Transport & Works Act all meant that things were too difficult for just a few people to cope with.

The depot forecourt has some lines laid, and the Charitable Trust that now runs it, occassionally trundles out a replica 1895 Glen Tramway car that I built. I made the Depot into a Museum (which I had planned to do) to celebrate the centenary in 1995.

All the steel (including the corrugated) is totally recycled material. Happy times.
