I have a Bachmann C-19 fitted with battery R/C and Zimo’plug and play’ 697 decoder.
The sound file is excellent but I would like to customise it a little....
I want to move a sound from F14 to F9 and vice versa but I can’t get my head around the Zimo instructions! If someone could explain the process in layman’s terms I would appreciate the help!
Thanks, Richard

Ahh, there are 2 ways, and I had a friend walk me through the "easy" way, did not calling Dan Pierce!

I should document this... there is a mode you set the decoder, and you can make the sound and then press the function key you want it mapped to. Was pretty cool.

But the standard way that works for all decoders works also.

I have just remembered where I had the instruction (in easy terms)..... here’s a cut and paste.....
“Basically, if you want to ‘divert’ an f key on your controller to a different fkey in the project, then you set “CV#400+input key” to the f key that is defined in the project for the feature you want.
For example, if the project has F Key10 defined for FA9 output, but you actually want F Key20 on your controller to do that instead, you simply set CV#420 (400+20) to value 10, so F key20 on your controller diverts to ‘internal’ F Key10 in the project.
Hopefully that makes sense”

I also seem to remember if there is something ALREADY on your new "destination" key, then you move one key to another "free" location..

For example:

horn on F4
bell on F5

you want it the other way

move horn to F28
move bell to F4
move horn to F5

this way you don't wipe out the function that was originally there.

With the Zimo system you can directly assign any sound to any function by going to CV 300 Read the manual on this, it worked on the MX1 system as well as the MX10 system. And you can reasign the in1-4 inputs using this method. Plus you can control the play length of the input sensors!! ZImo decoders have an awesome amount of features and it has taken me many years to get familiar with them. Note you can control the volume remotely with cv 395 (max volume), 396 (volume decrease Fkey), 397 (Volume increase. Fkey).

Hi Dan
Thanks for your information...it has come just at the right time....I’m driving my neighbours nuts with the wonderful sound of my D&RGW line!!
