New Aster 9F

You Tube video shows the first of a batch of the new spirit fired Aster 9Fs.
This is a kit build version 1.32 and has a single chimney and high sided tender
Quality appears to be the usual high standard which we have been used to from Aster for the last two decades.

Rather nice, just a pity that there was no number on it. I guess the owner was keen for a run and that will be attended to in short order. 9f’s were awesome beast, just looked right and run right. In recent years one was at a Gala on the West Somerset and if ever a Loco had full command of its train on the tricky WSR then the 9f was that engine. Looking forward to the next time one is present, in the meantime the Aster would do very nicely.

Yes it certainly looks to be a magnificent model, but it doesn't appear to be clear when the RTR ones will be available.

The Aster UK site only says they will be shipping the kit versions to UK addresses in the early part of this month, but there's no mention of the built up ones.

Maybe they will be coming from Accucraft since they have now aquired the Aster operation, but there's no info on their site either.
