New Engine arrives on the KMRR

Shawn

Hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing
About a year ago Mr John Bouck had an old kalamazoo 4-4-0 engine sitting in the yard back in Washington State. Mr Bouck was kind enough to ship it to jersey, free of charge. It needed a lot of work done to it to make it operational on the KMRR. The guys spent the winter getting the needed parts so they can get it to run. Back in its day the engine was kept nice and hauled passenger trains through Washington state. Now it will spend the rest of its life hauling logs.
(the engine runs off battery power using the critter control. The barrel on the tender is the control knob while the light on the tender covers the on/off switch as well as the foward/reverse switch. I added metal wheels to the front trucks. Details where added to give it a more realistic look or more to KMRR standards).
Here are a few shots hauling some empty log cars.

The guys also built a new church. Now the guys from Camp have somewhere to go on Sundays.
(It use to be a Piko western style school house but I cout the front off and repainted it).

Nice loco and photo's Shawn. Particularly like the last shot........

Thats what I call a proper Western engine.

The colours on your line at this time of year Shawn look absolutely lovely. It's also neat to see what I guess is quite a toylike model being used as the basis for something more serious :) Good work all round, and as usual, great to see more of the KMRR.

Fantastic looking loco Shawn love the details on the tender

She looks exactly as I imagine an engine that dodged the scrapyard and found a job on a out of the way line would look.:thumbup::thumbup: I love he collection of tools on the back of the tender too.
Edit: P.S. what is the plant with the yellow & white flowers ?

A great use of a toy loco that now looks so business like and fitting on your great line. Spring is certainly bringing out a real sharp colour palette to the scenery....very very effective.:clap::bigsmile::bigsmile:

Thank you everyone for the kind words.
James you are correct the kalamazoo trains tend to be toylike. By adding some details I was able to make it more believable You can pick them up on ebay for a decent price. Make good bashing engins.
Garry the flowers are called bluets. They grow in the localy here in the woods. I had transplanted a few into the layout to see how they would take. After a year they spread out like a field a flowers. Every year it gets better.

Nice loco!

Nicer garden....

Thanks Shawn, sadly Bluets ( Houstonia Caerulea ) don't seem to have been domesticated and adopted as a garden plant on this side of the Atlantic. Shame really
