New J LL Peate liveried W&L Open Wagons

Just thought you'd like to know I have commissioned Accucraft UK to have some of the next batch of W&L open wagons painted in the private owner livery of 'J LL Peate & Sons, Coal and Lime Merchants, Llanfair' . The accurate lettering researched and drawn by Ed More of EMA Heritage will be crisply painted onto a Dark Maroon wagon body to create a very attractive vehicle so folk can add more variety to their W&L trains.

We are having 4 different running numbers made, taken from the 5 numbers Peates had in their private owner fleet.

Happy steamings,

John

Just when I thought it was safe for me to unpadlock my wallet!

And this is almost what it will look like, well, if you can imagine the white lettering on a Dark maroon background.

The final artwork that has gone to the factory has a slightly improved layout to this version you are looking at.

Happy steamings,

John

Mmm!. Now the question is: how many can I justify? (Soon, I'll need an Earl as well as a Countess to haul all this kit - John, I shouldn't be telling you this?).

It's alright John never hassles you he just tempts you with nice pictures and being a really nice chap when you phone up to ask :)
Even got his mug in gardenrail this month. Still only four things currently on my drool list at Trackshack, problem is one is likely to lead to more corruption in the future.

That?s great news. I knew it was only a mater of time, I had to get a L&B open last time I was in London just to satisfy SWMBOs need for some colure.
Any chance of doing a set of artwork for use on Guage 3 wagons. I know Peate also had SG wagons.
Do you have an ETA for the wagons & how are the Green & White coaches coming along.
Thanks for the initiative.

Ah, a W&L Gauge 3 interchange siding, how interesting! OK, so has anyone got a picture of a standard gauge Peate wagon?

The wagons we have commissioned are due somewhere around June 2012 - ish

The next batch of Pickering coaches(including the Green and Cream) will be made when sufficient reservations have been made to justify going into production, this will be late 2012 at the earliest. I suggest if people are keen for these coaches they let it be known by making a reservation.

Happy steamings,

John
