New stainz delivery

just taken delivery of a pile of stainz spares including most of a old brown cab no2

has anyone got a decent pic of a early brown cab no2

This version would be a split gearbox with pickups, square roof vent, but no coach lighting connectors,

should this have gold hand wheels or black, black buffers or ones with white rims or should it have square buffers,

Your model was released 1971 - 1976. From 1973 the loco came with gold window frames and no data marking on the chassis. The loco has a gold plated whistle atop the cab roof and black, not gold plated boiler fittings and early sprung loaded couplers. It appears it came with the standard white rimmed oval buffers (not the earlier smaller offset square buffers).

actually my brown stainz, which may actually be 1976 or 1977, also with no lighting sockets, and as above described fittings,
and that pale pink red chassis
has an all black large stainz buffer, and
the larger stainz lamps with painted interior (no white plastics 'reflector' inserts) and no lens'
