New Swift Sixteen Brake Van

There you go

Very nice. Again, it doesn't fit with the SBLR, but I can see the body as a line side hut!

Keep them coming.

Would also be nice to use the body on a G Scale wagon as part of a Engineers Wagon. That is of course if it is not too high.

Just to let you all know. It turns out this van is a Guards van, not a Brake van, OOPS !!!

Rob.

Does that mean that you need to add gun racks to the sides :thinking::thinking:

I like that very "chunky" although i think it looks more like a Porto-loo than a guards van!!

Not many rivited metal portaloos around here Paul.:rolf:

This piece of rolling stock has been modelled on a REAL 'Guards Van' that can be seen at the Welsh Slate Museum right now.

Next model, a slate wagon?

Hi folks
Well I have made some progress with my guards van. I decided to open the end door by scoring with the back of a scalpel. Then I sprayed the inside and outside before assembling. Handrails are blued steel and the bench is just made from scrap. The door is currently held with blue tac so can be closed.
All I need now is some better weather to run it behind my slate wagons.....
Cheers
Chris

That's a very neat piece of work, Chris.

I'm not sure I'd want to travel in one of those, they seem very tall and very thin and, therefore, potentially unstable on uneven track.

I don't think I'd like to have been holding the rivets inside:rolf::rolf::rolf::rolf:

Now added to my site as a grounded van, so can be used as a tool shed or toilet.
