Spotted this at the weekend. Nicely welded up from steel strip and then galve dipped.

Nice. My brother retired recently and keeps offering to weld me up something similar, but I just don't have a suitable spot for one on the railway. Feel a rebuild coming on.
 
From experience, the cost of galv is very effective, especially when you consider the time it would take to paint three coats round it. If you were fussy about the colour then you could always get it powder coated. I have a short bridge made of ramin strip which is just starting to show it's age, so I might just indulge (when I have the time).
 
You can't beat hot dipped for longevity!
