No idea what to ask for some items I need to dispose of.

The rules for the selling page says I cannot ask for offers but I'm not sure what price to ask. I obtained a while ago a box of Bachmann locos in a sorry state. I'm sure there will be bits missing but these are not what I collect and I've no idea. I'm certainly not looking at getting the maximum but suggestions about how I can proceed would be welcomed.

I can do pictures and descriptions.

The green loco runs nicely and the light works.
The black 25 also runs however I had to pop off the coupling rod on one side as the part with the cylinder has snapped off. Looks a clean break.
The third loco is a battery powered one, no idea how to test.
There is a tender but it doesn't go with any of the locos. It doesn't have a name underneath so might not even be Bachmann.

I think evilbay might be more fruitful. I'm not sure how many maulers of Bug Maulers there are on this forum.

The tender certainly doesn't look like Bachmann.

I'd be tempted to put them up for small beer if you just need to get shot of them.

The third one should have a label underneath, telling you if it is 27mHz or 40mHz,and would run from a suitable Bachmann controller..

They are easy to swap the RC for something more modern and robust.

Pity it has had a dodgy paint-job..

Nah, that's not a real Bug Mauler -it's too recent, and the front running board has been re-fitted upside down :D It'll be a battery conversion I suspect.

Probably end up doing that. The size of these things means that they have to go Medium Parcel rate which puts a fair cost on the price right from the start.

Call me old fashioned, but I've always listed with postage extra - there's no such thing as a free lunch, and it ought to help people understand what's on offer.

Ultimately, yes, the postage cost may well affect what someone is prepared to pay - sometimes a bit different when it's new and shiny and really desirable.

I could suggest you put them in the for sale section for £ 100 or something, to be confirmed by Direct Message and take it from there. But I'm not allowed to say that. :mask:

Hm I can see no problem declaring a price then saying ‘open to offers’ postage at cost?

Because the rules specifically forbid offers/make an offer etc but unlike eBay the seller and buyer may contact each other - to sort out postage of course.
