I have a collection of those little Del Prado locos (US outline only)that came with the magazines and our kitten has been playing in my office.. the 'Push the loco off the window ledge' game.
Anyhow, on picking them up I took another close look at one of the locos and was taken again with its, well, strangeness.

It is the Milwaulkie Road EP-2 'Bi-Polar'

It has that attraction that only grotesque objects can have...and all those axles!
A kitbash could possibly start with two vanderbilt tenders and a couple of boxcabs............
Has anyone seen a G scale scratch built or kitbashed example of these beasties?

What's the wheel arrangement?

Co-Do-Do-Co I reckon!

A US version of the SBB Krokodil....

Leaving aside its looks, why "Bi-Polar" ? Is it depressed ?

Bi-polar, because you'd be crazy to build one in G.

BTW...Is it done yet???

Wouldn't you be depressed if you looked like that? :o:

Here's a piccy of what happened after the loco lost a major number of its axles...humans were brought in ;) ...who said that the Flintstones' methos of powering road vehicles was fictitious?

Allegedly because the motors only had two poles, which is fairly unusual on traction motors
Plus they were a gearless design where the armature was the axle.
There were twelve motors of 370hp each
