PDR - Charles new loco

owlpool

Welsh NG in the mountains. live steam
Country flag
GRS phoned - apparently I'd put my name on a list 3y ago for a SH Charles
someone had returned this lined one after 1 steaming in favour of a VoR
couldn't pass it up really - did a bit of a trade-in, appeared yesterday [2d later]

great lining job by Lightlines
all the gadgets - first loco I've had with a sight gauge

as you'd expect with RH
after a gauge change and a bit of oil
pulled well and smoothly first run around the circuit a few times on low load
then up the hill, no problems
top up water and gas - 40mins or so total
nice engine

I likey....

you got the call after me then.....................

although I don't ever remember asking for one, I prefer tender engines

She is a beauty though, lovely lining job :thumbup::thumbup:

A lovely engine the Penrhyn lining job sets it off a treat ( as you would expect:thinking: )

Very nice, hence i have Linda as well...

Just finished putting the R/C gear onboard Charles. No need for the coal truck then. If i would have lined it it would be Penhryn livery.

Looks great Paul - one of my favourites that I will get...maybe...one day.....

That is a stunning photo on the viaduct - to begin with I thought you had photo-shopped the background, and then I remembered that it is real!
Cheers

Wow that pictures on the viaduct is awesome. Worthy of being framed and hung on a wall. Nice steamer as well.
