My Pearse Ulysses has a problem. When pressure is building up in the boiler, I'm losing quite a bit of pressure through the filler cap's hole. The filler cap has a transparent plastic section over the bottom of it. Is this replaceable and do you think it's likely to be the cause of the loss of pressure?

I would guess the tranparent plastic is silicone tubing. This will harden over time, and lose its sealing properties.
Most top-up valves have this type of tube, and it's readily obtainable and easily replaced.

Thanks for the reply. Where would you source the tubing? I'm currently in Spain but return to the UK next week for fortnight so could pick it up from a supplier back home.

Well, I've still not done this. My loco is in Spain and I'm in the UK. I'd like to get the right diameter pipe but don't know the diameter size i need. I do know the water filler cap is a M12 thread.

Is there anyone on the forum that, either has one similar and could measure the diameter of the filler cap where the silicon tube sits, or knows the right size.

Thanks, Mike.
