Pico R3 Points

Hello
Just picked up an old Pico R3 points which are in very good condition overall but have one snag. The switch blades don’t want to stay against the fixed blades and like to be midway between the two positions. I have tried lubrication and that did not really improve the situation. I notice there is a “return” spring fastened to them and I wonder if this is the culprit?

.
I also note that the jumpers between the fixed and moving parts of the switchblade assembly are both rusted and very rigid and could

this be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

There was no hand lever on them when I bought them and I fitted the one shown to see if it improved things but it didn't really help.
Ok so I wonder if it is the rusty screw, if you can take it out try to clean up the thread plus inside with a tiny bit of grease on each to see if that helps. Do not loose the wire, if no joy try taking out the spring but be careful it could want to ping into the ‘never find it againess’.

Piko work with the little sprig in the middle, and nothing else, or remove the spring to use a manual or electric activator.
