Please, does anyone know how to get the bleddy roof off ? I can't find any type of screw that's holding it on ?

Thanks :)

Your only supposed to blow the bl......................

Hi Don
I think you might find if it's like the Reefers the roof is part of the body moulding and can't be removed the Piko models are taken from the old MDC models . But i could be wrong

Re:PIKO Caboose 37801

I presume it is just a tight push fit if there are no noticable screws. If the doors open just try to push one of the sides outwards from the inside, and see if it loosens the roof?

Re:PIKO Caboose 37801

Rooves in any scale are rarely screwed on, they are nearly all clip-fit. Even with LGB they can be stubborn to unclip through the windows as the plastic is so rigid. Take another look and see if there are fixing tabs or lugs inside. Then, if you are like me, throw it at the wall!

Re:PIKO Caboose 37801

Don,
I had many of these under the MDC/Roundhouse banner. This was originally called a 'transfer' caboose. From memory, the original were a push fit install (most came as kits, few models were ready made). Quite likely, Piko now glue the roof on. A lip on the top of the body moulding fits inside the edge of the roof moulding.

Thanks guys, I resorted to masking tape and Maskol - all came out OK in the end. Here it is in it's new home on the end of the MOW train.
