Am trying to pull one of these German Style 0-6-0 tanks apart. As you can see there are 2 screws that appear to be my final access to get the Boiler off to fit batteries and access the internal board. E6CC35A1-DDBC-4686-8983-560C180BC3A9.jpegThese are only accessible via the chimney so far as I can see but the only screwdriver I have long enough does not reach due to having the plug in bit for the bit.

Oh light bulm moment, in my former IT kit was a screwdriver long ebough, but still stuck after unscrewing. So these not relavent either.

Have the breakdown diagram and it appears the key is the screw under the front footplate heading rearwards together with the screws inside the cab.
Finally came out with some j j jigling. So lots of additional screws taken out that did not need to be. There is a tab that was causing the problems!

Scews to rear of cab once cab taken off.

Previous owner of the one I have , had a similar problem I think, the front tab on the boiler is broken on mine :(

Ah yes, the curse of the tab! Early Playmobil vehicles (though never the trains) tended to use screws to hold key parts together but then came tabs! Multiples of them! Tucked away ones! Completely hidden ones! Ones that needed another tab to be eased/released first!

I've got two of the US style Piko tanks which I bought at an online auction not knowing how big they were and so never use and, I now know, never to try and take apart I imagine.

I think it is once you know how to do it is not such a problem. BUT that Playmobil 4 wheel diesel is indeed another thing altogether, min has been dismantled for a fox suggested in here with much curing and grunting. But back to the 80, now if only I had remembered that viaEstrecha viaEstrecha had recently butchered one.......

OOPPs sorry modified.

Dead easy, undo 2 screws beneath the front each end that release the control panel then there are 2 screws that undo the roof. Simples. In fact the simplest PM I have attacked, though I don't remember the matching coaches being much of a task.
